“this” featured on Succession
I’m grateful, thrilled and honored to have my painting “this” hold space in the culminating scene of season 4 Succession.
This is the repost from @artforfilmnyc thank you so much
What an incredible honor to have Art for Film’s artwork in THE culminating climatic scene of Succession! Elizabeth Castagna’s “This” was practically a 4th character in the final showdown, and a perfect representation of the siblings’ relationship in the most unforgettable scene in a show that will stand the test of time. Thank you to Set Decorators @georgedetitta and @vwc_lic and artist @elizabeth_movement.art.life - we love working with you all! #succession #backgroundart #clearedart #setdecoration #setdec #womenartists #artforfilm #artforfilmnyc @succession #successionfinale @succession.scenes

3 Hr Performance: ”rise”
hour 1 // flowing
hour 3 // separating
“rise” is a 3 hour movement drawing performance made on 3 shades of blue paper that draped the walls of The River Center. Wearing layered shades of indigo dyed clothing I draw through my embodiment of flowing / separating / disconnecting to make visible through mark making our vulnerable relationship to sea level rise and the gradual disconnect happening between humans and the natural world.
I wore 3 layers of coveralls all at once. Each coverall matched a different shade of blue paper. At the top of every hour I would shed a layer of coveralls to reveal the next shade darker indigo. With the shedding I become more vulnerable to my environment
~~~~~
hour 1 // flowing: light blue paper, chalk, coveralls, staples, wall, floor, tape, moving through sensations of connection, integration, flow, water, memories of the ocean, play, mystery, voices, leaves blowing
hour 2 // disconnecting: medium blue paper, chalk, coveralls, staples, tape, wall, floor, water, washcloth, moving through sensations of confusion, of ease, of going one way and then another, of split happening, of connection and then not, of anxiety and then not, heart, not seeing clearly, self mostly, sounds of voices, laughter, leaves blowing, wind, sun
hour 3 // separating: dark blue paper, chalk, coveralls, staples, wall, floor, tape, cardboard, water, washcloth, stool, moving through sensations of worry, fear, overtaken, FL/NC, alone, lost, standing on things, where is safe now, water rushing, time, trapped, washing over, pouring over, vulnerable, sounds of children’s voices, leaves, voices, falling
